After enjoying a grand Thanksgiving Day with turkey and all the fixings, be sure to carve out some time to visit your local retailers on Small Business Saturday.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, which this year will be November 25, is recognized as Small Business Saturday. This is a day to encourage shoppers to support local businesses in the community.
The Algona Area Chamber of Commerce is offering an incentive for those who are able to get out and about to shop. Each participating retailer will offer their own specials and discounts, and for every $20 spent at a participating retailer’s store, shoppers will receive a ticket for a chance to win Chamber Bucks! Eight winners will be drawn on Tuesday, November 28.
Meanwhile, the State Five Theater in Algona will be offering free Holiday Merchant Movies on Small Business Saturday (November 25 at 11 a.m. and noon) and on several dates throughout the holiday season. The full schedule of holiday movies is included on the theater’s website.
