If you are looking for fun, family activities to enjoy in the fall, Algona offers a range of activities along with several favorite falls events.

Celebrate the Last Call Before Fall
Enjoy a final celebration before the fall season sets in with the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce at the Last Call Before Fall. This family-friendly event features games, activities, food and fun for all on the last weekend of September. Find more details on the Chamber’s website.
Take a Hike
See the fall leaves and colors in beautiful Call State Park, south of Algona. Hike the trail loop or do a quick drive through on the paved driving area. This park offers hiking, camping, shelter house, a playground and an 18-hole disc golf course. The Kossuth County Nature Center, north of Algona, is also a great place for fall hiking, kayaking, programs and more. Watch for the Nature Center’s annual Halloween Hike in October, a non-scary, science and nature focused night hike.
Connect with local farmers
The Kossuth County Farmers Market operates on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Carnegie Lawn through early October. Stop by to check out local fall produce, homemade treats, crafts, soaps, popcorn, jams and jellies, honey and much more. If you are looking for an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch to spend an afternoon, try Bode’s Moonlight Gardens or the Owen Farm in rural Algona.
Play a Round of Spooky Mini Golf
The Caddy Shack Miniature Golf Course offers fall hours, with special decorations for Halloween golfers. Check the golf course Facebook page for more details.
